Abbreviations:

R = round

mr = magic ring

sc = single crochet

inc = increase (2 sc in the next stitch)

dec = decrease (join the next 2 stitches into 1)

sl st = slip stitch

st = stitch

ch = chain

FO = Fasten off/finish off

FLO = Front loops only

BLO = Back loops only

[ ] = number of stitches you should have at the end of the round/row

( ) x 6 = repeat whatever is between the brackets the number of times stated

To crochet an amigurumi Mochi Crab, you need:

– Yarn (2.5mm): cream, orange, pink, back

– Size of eyes: 8mm

– Fiberfill for stuffing

– Sewing needle and scissors

Insert the eyes between rounds 10-11,  4 sts apart

R 17: (3 sc, dec) x 6 [24]
R 18: (2 sc, dec) x 6 [18]
Stuff with fiberfill  
R 19: (1 sc, dec) x 6 [12]
R 20: dec x 6 [6]

Stuff with fiberfill. Fasten off, and hide the tail.

Coat

Insert the body and then hook it again.

Part 1

Part 2

Part 2 crochet similar to Part 1, but do not cut the yarn, connect Part 1 with Part 2 together with a shift stitch, go up 1 sl st, and then crochet again.

R 6: (1 sc, dec) x 6 [12]
R 7: dec x 6 [6]
R 8-10: 6 sc (3 rounds) [6]

Cut the yarn, leaving a long tail for sewing.
