Abbreviations:

R = round

mr = magic ring

sc = single crochet

inc = increase (2 sc in the next stitch)

dec = decrease (join the next 2 stitches into 1)

sl st = slip stitch

st = stitch

ch = chain

FO = Fasten off/finish off

FLO = Front loops only

BLO = Back loops only

[ ] = number of stitches you should have at the end of the round/row

( ) x 6 = repeat whatever is between the brackets the number of times stated

To crochet an amigurumi Rooster, you need:

– Yarn (2.5mm):  white, yellow, red

– Size of eyes: 6mm

– Fiberfill for stuffing

– Sewing needle and scissors

R 8-14: 42 sc (7 rounds)  [42]
Insert the eyes between rounds 9-10, 6sts apart
R 15: (5 sc, dec) x 6 [36]
R 16: (4 sc, dec) x 6 [30]
R 17: (3 sc, dec) x 6 [24]
R 18: (2 sc, dec) x 6 [18]
Stuff with fiberfill  
R 19: (1 sc, dec) x 6 [12]
R 20: dec x 6 [6]

Stuff with fiberfill. Cut the yarn, hide the tail.

R 2: (2 ch, slst) x 3, 2 slst, sl

Cut the yarn, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Nose

Start with yellow yarn

R 1: 6 sc in mr [6]
R 2: (2 sc, inc) x 2 [8]

 Stuff with fiberfill. Cut the yarn, leaving a long tail for sewing.
