Crochet amigurumi fruit or vegetables can be a great toy or a baby photography decoration. This is a pattern for crocheting amigurumi carrots. This pattern is great for beginners too.

Abbreviations:

R = round

mr = magic ring

sc = single crochet

inc = increase (2 sc in the next stitch)

dec = decrease (join the next 2 stitches into 1)

sl st = slip stitch

ch = chain

dc = double crochet

tr = treble crochet

hdc = half double crochet

 [ ] = number of stitches you should have at the end of the round/row

 ( ) x 6 = repeat whatever is between the brackets the number of times stated

To crochet this carrot amigurumi you need:

– Yarn (4 ply): orange and green

– 3- 4mm crochet hook

– Fiberfill for stuffing

– Sewing needle and scissors

Start with orange yarn

Outside Leaf carrot  (make 4 leaves)

Start with green yarn

Leaf 1 (make 2)

Crochet 12 ch, turn and continue working around the foundation chain.

Continue crochet 1 ch. In the next stitch beginning from the 2nd st from your hook crochet ( 4sc, 6 hdc, 2 dc). Continue crocheting another side of the foundation chain (2 dc, 6 hdc, 4 sc).

Sl st. Cut the yarn, leaving a long tail for sewing

Leaf 2 ( make 1)

Crochet 9 ch, turn, and continue working around the foundation chain.

In the next stitch beginning from the 2nd st from your hook crochet 8 sc.

Sl st. Cut the yarn, leaving a long tail for sewing

Leaf 3 (make 1)

Crochet 5 ch, turn, and continue working around the foundation chain.

In the next stitch beginning from the 2nd st from your hook crochet 4 sc.

Sl st. Cut the yarn, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Sew Outside Leaf carrot into a carrot.
